: Learn how to make a ‘Gentleman’s Favour’ from straw, with Sarah of ‘Corn in the Fens’. Keep our heritage crafts alive and learn to make these charming tokens of love and courtship. Now considered a good luck charm, they were originally made after the harvest, by young men to give to the young lady they liked. If she pinned the token to her coat for church, it meant she was interested in him too! These crafts are sadly dying out but once played a big part in the history of the Fens and the harvest. Sarah assures us that the ‘Gentleman’s Favour’ is very easy to make so why not keep these skills alive and book your place today.

This workshop is suitable for disabled persons and wheelchair users.
