If you want to learn a new skill or try a craft you’ve perhaps never considered before, then Shedders is the place for you! You might even discover a talent you never knew you had!

Additional Details: Shedders member, Sarah JP is an integral part of the Wisbech Yarnbombers who will be contributing to the theme at this year’s Rose Fair – Pirates, Robots and Chickens! Shedders have been assisting with creating a number of chickens, who are needed to protect Wisbech castle from an imminent invasion by pirates (and assuming, from the robots too!) There will be a walking parade at 11am and again at 2pm with the Rose Queen, themed entertainment, stalls, floral decorations and much more. Come and check out the fair and see if you can spot Shedders’ chicken contributions!

Additional Details: Join Mick, our own metalwork expert, and make a bracket for a hanging basket using a variety of metalwork techniques, from cutting, shaping, twisting and welding. All materials and PPE will be provided. The metalwork room can only accommodate 2 additional people at a time so contact us now to secure your place. Further workshops will be announced in due course so if you don’t get a space now, we can add you to the list for future courses.

Additional Details: All materials, aprons and gloves will be provided. It is advisable to wear old clothing as although Powertex is water soluble in it’s liquid form, once dry it is there to stay. With this in mind it is advisable to remove jewellery and tie back long hair.

Additional Details: You will learn how to cut, plane and creating precise angles, as well as adding grooves and bevelling into your frame. The course will incorporate the correct use any equipment (for example, drum sander, table saw, router) and the necessary health and safety checks required. PPE will also be provided.

Additional Details: Shedders will be holding an open day to showcase all the amazing crafts and workshops on offer, with stalls from local businesses and other community groups as well. We’ll have activities to try with our mini-workshops, demonstrations of metalwork, woodwork and other crafts, items for sale and an Auction! Plus lots, lots more. Future Workshops and Events – Watch this space!
We have a number of workshops and events almost ready to go. Once further details are confirmed we will be posting details right here so don’t go too far. This is what we know right now…
Basic Woodwork Skills for the Home: Our resident carpenter and woodwork expert, Mick O’Brien, is hoping to hold additional workshops in the near future. We’re waiting on a confirmed date in July at present. If you are interested, please contact Mick through our Facebook page and he will add you to the wait list. The course will be over 4-5 weeks again but dates and times to be confirmed.
