Shedders and Fixers offer a wide range of workshops and events throughout the year. You can find details of what’s on here, or check out our Facebook Events page. You might want to take a look at our Past Workshops page as well. We hope to have some of these amazing classes back again soon so keep an eye on this page for more fun to come.

If you want to learn a new skill or try a craft you’ve perhaps never considered before, then Shedder’s is the place for you! You might even discover a talent you never knew you had!

Poster: Do you have a wardrobe with a broken hinge, a sticky kitchen drawer or maybe a shelf that's on the wonk! *Look no further* Mick O'Brien is running a wood workshop for beginners where he will show you some easy fixes for around the home. If you have a specific carpentry problem, let Mick know and maybe he can include it in the sessions. Afterwards, you'll have the option to put your new skills to the test making a simple wooden picture frame. All tools will be provided. — BASIC WOODWORK FOR THE HOME: **THIS WORKSHOP IS CURRENTLY FULL**

Date/Time: Monday, 4th May, 13:30-14:30 (and every Monday for 5 weeks). The sessions may go on a little longer, depending on whether you have any specific home maintenance problems you want to cover.
Cost: £5 for Members / £10 for Non-Members. There may be a small charge for any additional materials but this will be communicated in advance.

Poster: Are you ready to get creative and learn a new skill that never goes out of style? Join us for a relaxed, hands-on, Back to Basics Sewing Workshop on how to finish your project with pride. This is the 5th course in the series that will show you how to finish off your sewing projects and guide you step-by-step through the essentials, from hemming, adding buttonholes, and much more. No pressure, no jargon, just plenty of fun, friendly guidance and a few cups of tea along the way. Come for the stitching, stay for the smiles. The perfect way to connect and create something beautiful! — BACK TO BASICS SEWING WORKSHOP: FINISHING: **SPACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE**

Additional Details: This course is primarily open to those attendees that have completed the other 4 sessions in the ‘Back to Basics Sewing’ workshops. Any spare places will then be open to anyone else. Please bring your sewing machine but if you don’t have one, Shedders does have a few machines available to use.

We'll be making a Thread Catcher, a Chicken-shaped Pin Cushion and a Scissors' Case that will safely hold up to 3-pairs of scissors. Come for the stitching, stay for the smiles. Cost: £15 for Members / £20 for Non-Members. Attendees will need to purchase 1 metre of cotton poplin fabric and 1 metre of lining fabric. For a small and very reasonable fee, Viv will have a selection of fabrics available to purchase on the day, if you prefer.

Poster: Discover the magic of resin art with Sue and Cat. In this fun, hands-on workshop you'll experiment with colours, flowers, mica powders and glitter to create stunning designs. Choose your favourite technique and craft a beautiful resin piece to take home. Pieces will need to 24-48 hours to cure and can then be collected from Shedders from the Monday. Perfect for beginners and creatives alike! All equipment and PPE provided. — ONE-POUR RESIN WORKSHOP: **SPACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE**

Future Workshops and Events – Watch this space!

We have a number of workshops and events almost ready to go. Once further details are confirmed we will be posting details right here so don’t go too far. This is what we know right now…

Embroider a Brooch Workshop: Create a beautiful brooch of a blossoming tree, using simple embroidery stitches, such blanket stitch and french knots. Date and time to be confirmed.

Felting Workshop: Learn some simple techniques to turn natural wool into felted characters and creatures. Discover how to prepare your wool, blend colours and much more. Date and time to be confirmed.

Junk Journal Workshop: After the success of our last Junk Journal workshop in April (see our Past Workshops page), we are hoping our amazing tutor, Bea, will schedule another soon. Learn how to create your own journal using recycled materials. Customise it to suit your style and creativity, give it a theme or just ‘wing it!’ The options are endless. Date and time to be confirmed.

Basic Woodwork Skills for the Home: Our resident carpenter and woodwork expert, Mick O’Brien, is hoping to hold additional workshops in the near future. If you are interested, please contact Mick through our Facebook page and he will add you to the wait list. Also, if you have any home maintenance carpentry problems you have that you’d like him to include in the lesson plan, let him know. The course will likely be over 4-5 weeks again but dates and times to be confirmed.

The Wisbech Yarnbombers & The Wisbech Rose Fair – 27th June 2026: Shedders member, Sarah JP is an integral part of the Wisbech Yarnbombers who will be contributing to the theme at this year’s Rose Fair – Pirates, Robots and Chickens! Shedders have been assisting with creating a number of chickens, who are needed to protect Wisbech castle from an imminent invasion by pirates (and assuming, from the robots too!) Come and check out all the myriad of activities at the Rose Fair and see if you can spot our chicken contributions!

SHEDDERS OPEN DAY – 23rd August 2026: Put the date in your diary now! Shedders will be holding an open day to showcase all the amazing crafts and workshops on offer. We’ll have activities for the whole family, demonstrations of metalwork, woodwork and other crafts, mini-workshops to try out, crafts for sale and much more. Other crafters are welcome so if you’d like to have a stall then please get in contact. Opening time and activities schedule to be confirmed.
